Several units of Hospital da Luz network in mainland Portugal and Madeira Island are now part of the project Portugal Health Passport , destined to all foreign citizens that visit Portugal and might need medical care, be it in case of emergency, be it on a scheduled basis. The initiative, launched in 2019 for British tourists and now extended to all nationalities, comes from Turismo de Portugal. The Portugal Health Passport allows immediate access to urgent healthcare of high quality in private units, at fixed prices. To benefit from these prices, citizens must: enrol and require the passport; present the passport in any of the participating hospital units, among them Hospital da Luz. Also using the passport, but previously scheduling an appointment (72 hours before), they can also have access to five check-up packages (with the results of exams and analyses available in 2 to 4 days), in the areas of General Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Dental Medicine . To obtain the Portugal Health Passport Hospital da Luz units available Permanent Medical Assistance (AMP – Atendimento Médico Permanente) and all the check-up packages: Arrábida, Coimbra, Guimarães, Lisboa and Oeiras. Only Permanent Medical Assistance (AMP): Amarante, Aveiro, Cerveira, Funchal, Póvoa de Varzim, Setúbal, Vila Real and Hospital da Misericórdia de Évora.
