This news is destined to all children from 3 to 10 years old: Hospital da Luz will welcome them to the Puppet Hospital, which will be set up once again in Praça Central of Centro Comercial Colombo, in Lisbon, between April 23 and May 4. Entry is free, the only requirement being to bring along a puppet to help them play in such a special space. In the Puppet Hospital, fun is guaranteed as well as learning, whilst fear of the doctors and nurses “white coat” is overcome. This is the 24th edition which will have as main topic “Children and emotions”. Hospital da Luz Lisboa sponsors this initiative since 2019. This year, there will be two spaces which will certainly arouse the curiosity of the young ones: an area simulating the operating theatre, and another area replicating a physiotherapy room. The Puppet Hospital: Is an initiative of the Students Association of Medical Sciences Faculty (AEFCM), NOVA Medical School, developed in collaboration with other faculties in Lisbon. Has for purpose to put aside the “white coats syndrome” so common in children, through fun moments of learning. Every day, the children can visit “Tinoni” and the different rooms of the “hospital”, that will reproduce the real hospital spaces. They will be received and followed up by “doctors” (students from different courses in the health area), who will recreate healthcare activities in a playful way adapted to the children’s ages. Thus, we hereby invite parents and children, boys and girls, to take a puppet and show up! Date and time: April 23 to May 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Place: Centro Comercial Colombo, Lisbon (central square, free entry)
