The day after becoming a father, Rodrigo Monteiro received an unexpected tribute. On Cláudio Ramos and Maria Botelho Moniz's TVI program ‘Two at 10’, Rodrigo, who is part of the security team at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA), heard an emotional thank you from the mouth of actress and comedian Inês Aires Pereira. “The only reason we didn't name our son Rodrigo was because we had already chosen another name” , she said live to TVI viewers. As she described on social media, Inês, who is pregnant, had an abortion threat two months ago when she was in the studio recording. At the time, she was taken to the HBA emergency room, where the first person she contacted was security guard Rodrigo Monteiro: «He came to see me. He realized that I was distressed and that I needed help. And then he took me and walked into the emergency room, saying, 'This woman needs help. Gestational loss! Gestational loss!’ And always holding on to me…» , she told on the program ‘Two at 10’. Inês also recalled that, as soon as she was handed over to the obstetrics emergency department, she was very well treated and everything went well, but she did not see Rodrigo again, whom since that day she has tried to thank him for the support he represented in that intense moment of distress and despair. TVI surprised Inês, showing a short video of Rodrigo addressing the actress: «I don't think I did more than any of my colleagues would have done. But I understand the situation well: my wife has been through the same 2 or 3 times. I'm so happy that you're okay, that the baby is okay. And I would love to be there, but … I was also a father yesterday. I wish you all the best!» , was the message that Inês heard with emotion. It is with pride that everyone at Hospital Beatriz Angelo and at Luz Saúde Group share the tribute paid to Rodrigo Monteiro. To him and, of course, to the entire HBA security team, our deepest thanks for the exemplary way in which they carry out their duties every day, at all hours. Thanks.
