João Ferreira Rebelo, Legal and Compliance Director at Luz Saúde, was once again recognized by Legal 500 as one of the best legal advisors for companies in Portugal. The prize was awarded by the prestigious Legal 500 GC Powerlist Portugal 2023 and announced on June 22, in Lisbon, at a ceremony that highlighted some legal professionals in our country. This year, Joana Pita and Sofia Galego Dias, deputy directors of the Legal and Compliance Department at Luz Saúde, were also recognized by the Legal 500 GC Powerlist, as rising stars in Portuguese law. João Ferreira Rebelo has been a member of the Luz Saúde Group since 2007, holding the position of Legal and Compliance Director. He also collaborates as a professor at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal and with the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences, within the scope of Post-Graduate Courses in Health Law and Health Administration and Management. A lawyer since 2009, Joana Pita joined Luz Saúde in 2008. Since 2012, she has been deputy director of DJC, and is currently responsible for the areas, among others, of New Business (M&A, greenfield projects, and expansions), regulatory and Compliance. She is also a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal in the Postgraduate Course in Health Law. Sofia Galego Dias has been on João Rebelo's team since 2009, having assumed the role of deputy director in 2012. She coordinates, among others, the areas of litigation (civil, administrative, criminal and misdemeanor), medical responsibility and investigation processes with regulatory entities in the health area and is responsible for creating risk management policies and procedures for the Luz Saúde group units. She has been a lawyer since 2009.
