LUZ 24 – the Hospital da Luz free service, accessible via MY LUZ app or through the national landline 217 104 424 , is celebrating its fifth anniversary and has reinforced the offer of services. Whoever resorts to LUZ 24, Hospital da Luz clients or not, have now the possibility to subscribe a treatment plan, besides counselling with their urgent health issues. Along these first five years: The LUZ 24 service conducted over 250 thousand clinical screenings, the majority of callers not needing to be referred to Urgent Assistance, rather to one of the other options provided to clients by Hospital da Luz network – namely selfcare, video urgent consultation or programmed consultation/video consultation. All those in need to be referred to Urgent Assistance in a Hospital da Luz network unit, had also the possibility to request transportation by ambulance or vehicle dedicated for patient transporting. Whenever necessary, a team was ready to receive the patient in the destination hotel. Over the last months, people resorting to LUZ 24 and simply needing selfcare have been advised, based on clinical screening, to subscribe a Treatment Plan (€15), and during the three days following, they benefit from a daily monitoring of their clinical situation. Therefore, the LUZ 24 service continues to be a service of unique value proposition in the sector of Health: this way, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Portuguese can get immediate healthcare. LUZ 24 should not be used in case of emergency, in which case, in Portugal, the 112 service must be activated.
