LUZ 24 – the Hospital da Luz network open-access clinical screening phone line – celebrates three years today. On LUZ 24, many Portuguese people, clients and non-clients of Hospital da Luz, have been able to find counselling and solutions for their urgent health problems. The LUZ 24 remains a service with a unique value proposition in the Health sector: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, people can, by this means, get immediate health care, being ensured dully contextualized referral and arrival to the Emergency Services of any Hospital da Luz Network unit, and a permanent interaction with our clinical professionals. The numbers show a consolidated growth of this phone line (217 104 424). Along these three years of operation: The LUZ 24 teams carried out over 150 thousand screenings; The assistance provided was extended to those who are followed up in the Oncology services of the Hospital da Luz Network units. The Portuguese public can continue to rely on LUZ 24. LUZ 24 (217 104 424): Is an innovative and highly-differentiated support/clinical screening line, dedicated both to adults and children; Provides support also in English, for foreign clients; Is organized as follows: The Client Service Technicians – working in the Service Centres of Lisbon, Póvoa de Varzim and Vila Real – take the call; The LUZ 24 nurses – working from the Service Centre in Vila Nova de Gaia, based on Luz Saúde predefined clinical protocols – carry out the clinical screening of the clients and provide them with the most adequate counselling (self-care, Emergency Services, consultation or video consultation); When so determined by the LUZ 24 nursing team, the nurses in hospitals and clinics of Hospital da Luz network receive and follow up each case, based on the screening already carried out. The LUZ 24 service has the Clinical Direction of Betânia Ferreira , specialized in Internal Medicine, and nurse Cláudio Ferreira in the coordination of the nursing team. They work in articulation with teams of the Emergency Services in the hospitals and clinics of Hospital da Luz network, and with the Contact Center General, under the coordination of Ana Pina Silva.
