A group of Luz Saúde employees participated in a beach cleaning action , promoted by the Brigada do Mar association, having collected, in just two hours, around 400 kilos of garbage. This action took place within the scope of the ‘20 years, 20 causes’ initiative with which Luz Saúde celebrates its 20th anniversary and which aims to support social institutions in the most diverse areas. This time, the objective was to collaborate with an environmental association, Brigada do Mar , which is dedicated to cleaning and decontaminating beaches, environmental education and cooperation activities for the development and sustainability of the planet. Last Friday, November 12th, Luz Saúde's employees joined a group of volunteers from Brigada do Mar, for an action to clean up the river beach of Seixal. For two hours, the group found in the sand and collected glass and plastic, tires, shoes, and old clothes, styrofoam and fiberglass scraps, managing to gather in just two hours around 400 kilos of garbage brought by sea or dumped by the beach goers. Seixal beach, as well as many others on our coast, will continue to need these initiative s. Brigada do Mar will continue to work on cleaning up our environment. And we all must contribute.
