Hospital da Luz Funchal received the official visit of the President of Madeira’s Regional Government, in the context of a round of visits to health units in the region. Miguel Albuquerque took notice and praised the investment that Luz Saúde group has been making in Madeira – now including the requalification of the former Clínica da Carreira , to be integrated in the national network of Hospital da Luz units –, representing a global financial input of about five million euros . Luz Saúde has presently in Madeira two units that are part of the national network of Hospital da Luz units, namely, Hospital da Luz Funchal and Hospital da Luz Clínica do Caniço , offering a wide range of health services. As announced by Miguel Albuquerque, the requalification of Clínica da Carreira has already been approved by the local authorities and is estimated to be concluded by the end of May 2022. “The Luz Saúde Group enjoys a high reputation, and has excellent professionals and state-of-the-art technology, which is fundamental for providing quality healthcare to our population”, highlighted the president of the Regional Government, expressing great satisfaction “with the new investment envisaged”, at the level of Clínica da Carreira requalification, and at the level of Hospital da Luz Funchal expansion (former Clínica de Santa Catarina). “The private health units are a market option and a complement to the public sector”, further specified Miguel Albuquerque, in statements to the media.
