Last weekend, Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim organized, in partnership with the Motard group NCX'Istas do Norte, the 3rd edition of the event 'First aid for motorcyclists' , a highly attended initiative that, once again, there was a full house again. The session was led by nurses from Hospital da Luz with training in this area, and also included the participation of clinical psychologist Pedro Vaz and the nurse director of HL Póvoa de Varzim, Maria José Reis. The program included topics such as basic life support, airway clearance, hemorrhage and control techniques and helmet removal: yes or no, and emotional management in an emergency situation was also discussed and the motorcyclist's emergency card was presented. The motorcyclists present were able to undergo practical training in BLS maneuvers, lateral safety position, tourniquet application and airway clearance, with the Hospital offering each participant a pocket-mask and a tourniquet, for use in situations requiring basic support. life.
