A mural about 70 meters long and six meters high, painted by street artist Asur on one of the main avenues in Loures, accessing the Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (HBA), honors the health professionals who were and continue to be at the forefront of the fight to the Covid-19 pandemic. The tribute was an initiative of the City Council of Loures and the mural was inaugurated last December 10th, with the presence of the mayor, Bernardino Soares, and the HBA executive administrator, Artur Vaz. On the occasion, Bernardino Soares justified the initiative as «a tribute that will remain and that will forever remind us of health professionals, their work and their importance». For his part, the administrator of the Hospital said, thanking the tribute, «that health professionals were the first to be affected by the pandemic», and recalled that «the most important tribute must be the commitment of the Portuguese to safety rules». Asur , who was also present at the opening of his mural, said that some HBA professionals «gave help in the paintings and in the construction of this work», stressing that it was a way of also leaving «their mark». The artist is a native of Albufeira, is 27 years old and paints since he was 12 on the streets of the Algarve, without ever having an artistic background. He has works of Public Art in Portugal and in several places in the world, the most distant work is in Japan. One of his last works was in the pedestrian tunnel under the Rotunda dos Descobrimentos, in the riverside park in Albufeira.
