It is clinically indicated, for instance, in women in post-menopause phase, people with bone loss risk factors, and in the wake of bone metabolic diseases (meaning disorders altering metabolism, bone formation and bone renewal). It also contributes to fracture risk stratification and to the follow-up of therapeutical efficacy in patients under treatment.
