Comparatively to others, the Siemens Somaton Drive has for benefits faster images (mainly cardiac images) and a significant reduction of the clients’ exposure to radiation. Therefore, this new CT equipment allows : Cardiac CT exams in patients where it was not possible or where it required previous medication; To extend the range of medical specialties where it is possible to resort to this type of exam; To carry out exams in the area of Paediatrics with no need to sedate the child; Invasive exams (such as biopsies, drainages and interventional radiology exams), for it is equipped with a per-operative radioscopy system; Higher comfort for the patient (thanks to the large diameter of the arc).
