Filomena Ribeiro, director of the Ophthalmology Service at Hospital da Luz Lisboa, was one of the speakers invited to participate in the 1st Forum of Discussion on Iberian Private Ophthalmology: Development and Expansion/Different Perspectives, which took place on October 20 and 21, in Madrid. Filomena Ribeiro approached the topic of the economic value of medical practice, a communication that was received with great interest by the over 100 Iberian invited participants at the gathering. Filomena Ribeiro holds a medical degree form the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Instituto Superior Técnico. She is a specialist in ophthalmology since 2000, integrating the Ophthalmology Service of Hospital da Luz Lisboa since April 2007, and assuming the direction of the service in May 2016.
