About 180 children and adolescents underwent free pediatric ophthalmology screenings made available by Hospital da Luz Arrábida on August 29 and 30. S ome cases of myopia were detected and then referred for specialty consultations. The screenings took place at Arrábida Shopping and allowed the evaluation of parameters such as visual acuity, eye movements and color vision , among others. It is during the early years of life that profound developments and transformations in vision occur, and it is essential to monitor and treat harmful changes that may arise early on. The receptivity of the population to these screenings was very positive and these children and young people leave for another school year with updated eye diagnoses and due warnings to prevent vision problems.
