The Oporto Book Fair, the big literary festival in the city, which took place this year between August 23 and September 8, had once again the clinical support of Hospital da Luz. Many visitors had also the opportunity to take health screenings with teams of nurses and administrative personnel from the units of Hospital da Luz Arrábida (Vila Nova de Gaia), Oporto and Santa Maria da Feira clinics, who were present throughout the event. In all, our professionals did 6,186 cardiovascular risk screenings (including glycaemia, cholesterol and blood pressure testing, and BMI evaluation) . During the weekends of the Fair, the teams were also on call to provide first aid, in collaboration with the fire brigades present on site. The Oporto Book Fair is organized annually by the City Hall, with a cultural and entertainment program for all ages. It always pays homage to a personality, this year the poet Eugénio de Andrade. Hospital da Luz thanks the organization for the opportunity to participate in this event that marks the cultural life of the city. And whenever the community calls, we are there!
