With its new Operating Room , Hospital da Luz Clínica de Odivelas has now available Pediatric Surgery – a specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of diseases of the new-born, child and youth. Up to adolescence, the intervention in many diseases requiring surgical treatment is of the responsibility of the Pediatric Surgery Service, such as for instance: inguinal hernias; umbilical hernias; appendicitis; cysts and fistulas; malformations and genital and urinary diseases. At Hospital da Luz Clínica de Odivelas, we perform these surgical interventions in the ambulatory regimen. The start of activity in this area was ensured by João Manuel Henriques (in the photo above), pediatric surgeon with a vast experience in this type of interventions. Orlando Cordeiro and Vanda Pratas Vital complete our medical team of Pediatric Surgery.
