Perioperative nursing englobes the nursing care provided to patients, before, during and after surgery. “We are talking about specific nursing care, thus envisaging to offer a training dedicated to the particularities implicated by this area”, explains the organizing committee of the congress. In this area, nurses are faced with multiple challenges, namely: The evolution of complexity of invasive procedures and the necessary perioperative care; The fast technological development in the area of health in general and in the perioperative area in particular; The increasing complexity and risk in terms of morbidity associated to individuals submitted to invasive procedures, resulting from the raising life expectancy of the population and the higher access to healthcare. The congress will be theoretical-practical: The first day program includes interventions about some of the main issues these professionals are confronted with (for instance, training, sustainability and team communication); The morning of the second day will offer different workshops ; In the end, there will be space to present scientific papers by the participants registered for the effect. This congress is mostly dedicated to nurses, but also to all health professionals interested in perioperative nursing. Everyone is very welcome!
