Joaquim Garrido, member of the team of Systems and Information Technologies Direction from Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim, is also a student of Photography at the School of Media, Arts and Design (ESMAD), and one of his projects has just been distinguished in the prestigious International Photography Awards (IPA) . Among over 14 thousand photos in contest, by amateur and professional photographers from a hundred countries, the IPA jury attributed an honourable mention to the work presented by Joaquim Garrido, in the category Editorial / Press / General News. The International Photography Awards are a renowned annual competition, destined to professional photographers, amateurs and students. The distinguished photo – “COVID Drive thru testing”, that illustrates this piece of news – was taken in the COVID-19 testing area of Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim and is part of a project started by Joaquim Garrido at tacademic level, on the topic of “Health professionals, what changed in a pandemic context”.Joaquim Garrido proposed to Luz Saúde administration to extend the project and throughout several months, he registered the different aspects of a new day-to-day marked by the pandemic, including the changes in routines imposed to health professionals.
