A set of 32 portraits by artist Catarina Melancia are from today on display in the interior garden of Hospital da Luz Lisboa. ‘Unknown Portraits’ is the title given by the artist to the set of these works, which can be seen until October 18. Born in Santarém, in 1985, Catarina Melancia started drawing at an early age and attended the graduation course in History of Art at the NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. An autodidact, her works focus on the human figure – especially the portrait – and, besides drawing and painting, include other techniques, such as collage.
