The Association for the Promotion of Infant Safety (APSI) will organize, next July 26, at Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim, a free workshop on transporting children in the car. The workshop counts with the support of Maxi-Cosi. Although mandatory, many children are still transported without a proper seat or inadequately restrained – and, then, when you least expect it, accidents happen. The workshop The ABC of safety – how to transport the baby in the car : Is especially destined to families expecting a child and / or with children up to 3 years old; Will explain which are the most adequate seats for every age; Wil demonstrate, and allow participants to try, the correct way to install a child seat in the car and how to set the baby; Will approach topics such as the Isofix system and the importance of the backwards facing transportation; Includes an intervention by a nurse specialist in Maternal Health and Obstetrics, who will introduce the maternity service of Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim. Attendance is free, but with mandatory previous registration.
