Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim obtained the maximum rating of clinical excellence in the area of orthopaedics (total hip and knee arthroplasty), in conformity with the SINAS report elaborated by ERS, the Portuguese Healthcare Regulation Authority. The maximum rating (three stars) in the evaluation of Clinical Excellence is attributed by this entity, when results are higher than the average of all healthcare providers. It is also worth mentioning that Hospital da Luz Póvoa de Varzim obtained high rating (two stars) in the area of gynaecology (hysterectomy) and obstetrics (labor and prenatal care). SINAS is a system of global quality evaluation in healthcare providers, developed by ERS, the units’ participation being volunteer. The report now divulged concerns the evaluation made between 1st July 2016 and 30th June 2017, reflecting the annual performance of providers.
