Respiratory diseases are the third leading cause of death in Portugal , with smoking and air pollution being the main risk factors. For this reason, Pulmonology professionals from the Hospital da Luz network units in Lisbon, Torres de Lisboa, Odivelas, Oeiras and Setúbal will perform free screenings of these illnesses, on October 4 th , open to the general population. These screenings, which are intended to mark World Lung Day (September 25), will evaluate several parameters related to these diseases – such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and lung cancer - as well as smoking cessation and sleep disorders. The screenings will take place throughout the day simultaneously in the five units. Join us!
