Hospital da Luz Setúbal carried out two more initiatives with the community that registered high adherence of the population. On October 12, the registrations for the integrated child screening almost closed: 17 children aged 4 to 8 were evaluated by a team of health professionals from various specialties: otolaryngology, ophthalmology and speech therapy. The cases were problems were detected were referred for specialist consultation. Hospital da Luz Setúbal’s team that performed this child screening consisted of: Cláudia Bacalhau (ophthalmologist), Rute Mendes (orthotics technician), Luísa Matos (otolaryngology technician), Nuno Silva (speech therapist) and Beatrice Neves (otolaryngologist). Before, on October 15, 36 people (aged 19 to 92) had already participated in the screening for glaucoma that the hospital carried out at Livramento’s Market – of which eight were identified as at risk or with alterations compatible with glaucoma.
