On the World Patient Safety Day , September 17, several Luz Saúde professionals are participating in the symposium “Environment and patient safety: beyond Covid-19” . The objective is to raise awareness to the importance of the environment, in the areas of infrastructures, preservation and decontamination, in what concerns the safety of patients. With the scientific coordination of Carlos Palos , specialist in Intensive Medicine and Internal Medicine and the coordinator of the Infection Control and Antimicrobial Resistance Group of Luz Saúde and at Hospital Beatriz Ângelo, the symposium will count with interventions not only on infection prevention and control, but also on engineering and hospital infrastructures. Speakers, besides Carlos Palos, will include José Carlos Moreira (Luz Saúde Infrastructures and Maintenance) and Soraia Bispo (nurse, Luz Saúde Infection Control Group). The opening conference will be ensured by Francesco Venneri (The International Society for Quality in Healthcare).
