SC Vila Real and Hospital da Luz Vila Real are developing a series of awareness raising actions for prostate cancer prevention, integrated in the Blue November movement , a world campaign viewing to alert to diseases affecting men’s health. Prostate cancer is presently the most frequent in men. SC Vila Real athletes were the face and voice of the campaign promoting the prostate cancer free screenings provided by Hospital da Luz on November 13 and 14. Last Sunday, November 16, during the match between SC Vila Real and Leça FC, counting for the Portuguese Championship (series B), a Hospital da Luz team was at Monte da Forca Sports Complex providing information and clarifying the doubts of fans about the importance of prostate cancer prevention. Hospital da Luz Vila Real is the official medical provider for SC Vila Real athletes in this 2025/2026 season, in the context of its mission to ensure health care to the population and local institutions. The protocol between the two parties establishes special conditions of access for athletes, club members, collaborators, and respective families. At Hospital da Luz, we believe that the practise of sport is fundamental for a healthier life. We are also together in the prevention of prostate cancer.
