Specialists in Paediatrics and Dermatology from Hospital da Luz Lisboa will provide, next November 11, a free course, destined to parents and caregivers, and entirely dedicated to atopic eczema in children, a very common chronic disease, where daily care is fundamental for the quality of life. Atopic eczema is at the origin of a great number of hospitalizations and trips to the emergency service, largely because caregivers don’t know how to intervene. Is a chronic inflammatory disease of the skin; May occur for the first time at any age, but in most cases appears in the first 5 years of life; Its prevalence has been increasing over the last decades and it is estimated that presently 8-10% of Portuguese children have atopic eczema. Along the three hours of this course, the participants will receive a theoretical learning – where it will be explained what is the disease and which are the factors of aggravation and relief – and a practical learning, on general care and educational therapies / psychotherapy for the child with atopic eczema. This ABC of Eczema counts with the support of Uriage and ADERMAP (Portuguese Association of Atopic Dermatitis). Date and time: 11 November 2022, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Place: Hospital da Luz Lisboa (auditorium) Registration
