Last April 30, the Fifth Academic Clinical Forum of Palliative Care in the North took place at Clipóvoa (Hospital da Luz Póvoa do Varzim). The event started with a roundtable dedicated to the theme “Public and Private in Palliative Care”, counting with the participation of: Fernando Araújo (Adjunct Secretary of State and Health) António Pimenta Marinho (President of ARS North Directing Board) Luís Ferreira (Director in Group Luz Saúde) Rui Carneiro (Director of the Palliative Care Unit at Clipóvoa and Hospital da Arrábida) Maria do Céu Rocha (Director of the Palliative Care Unit at ULS Matosinhos). In the course of the Forum, academic and clinical research projects were presented, as well as the application Regional Profiles of Palliative Care, developed by a workgroup of the Portuguese Observatory of Palliative Care, including: Bárbara Gomes, Paula Sapeta, Maja Brito, Sandra Baptista and Catarina Simões (from Hospital da Luz Póvoa and Arrábida).
