The awareness raising actions to breast cancer prevention organized by Hospital da Luz Guimarães in the context of the Pink October campaign counted with the participation of Vitória Sport Club’s women’s football team. Last October 10, Hospital da Luz Guimarães was the official sponsor of the match Vitória SC – Rio Ave, counting for the 4 th round of Betclic Women’s Football League, which ended in a draw. Lu, Hospital da Luz mascot, handed over shirts alluding to October Pink to the first 50 women entering the Vitória Academy, where the match took place. A team from Hospital da Luz Guimarães – which offers free breast cancer screening mammographies until October 31 – was present in the stands during the game, clearing doubts on the theme. Hospital da Luz Guimarães is the official medical provider of Vitória Sport Club athletes, for season 2025/2026, in the context of its mission to ensure healthcare to the population and local and regional institutions. The protocol between the two parties establishes special conditions of access to health services for the club’s athletes, members, collaborators and family. At Hospital da Luz, we believe that the practice of sport is fundamental for a healthier life. In this Pink October, we are also together in the prevention of breast cancer.
