The new Hospital da Luz Ribatejo was one of the highlights of the latest edition of the National Agriculture Fair (FNA26), held every year in Santarém. On Saturday, June 13, Hospital da Luz took over the local municipality’s stand to showcase its new facility in Santarém—a hospital under the Hospital da Luz brand designed to serve the entire Ribatejo region. In a symbolic inauguration ceremony, the executive administrator of Hospital da Luz Ribatejo, Pedro Patrício, invited the Mayor, João Teixeira Leite, to unveil the scale model of the new hospital and highlight the importance of the project for the city . “Congratulations, Luz Saúde! This private investment will bring us significant growth and development. We are talking about a €60 million investment, 400 new jobs, and an organization that will create value in our economy, our society, and the dynamism of our territory. Thank you to everyone involved in this project!” said João Teixeira Leite on the occasion. Pedro Patrício, in turn, thanked the Municipality of Santarém not only for providing the space at FNA26 for this initiative, but also for all the support given from the outset in the development and delivery of the new Hospital da Luz Ribatejo. He also revealed: “Construction will be completed during July, and we expect to begin equipping the hospital in August and September, with the aim of opening our doors in the last quarter of this year.” The administrator of the new Luz Saúde unit also noted that recruitment of professionals is already underway and added: “We began with the Executive Board, which will be made up of Rita Paulos, Tatiana Silvestre, and Miguel Neves. They will be responsible for the entire clinical and management operation of this Hospital da Luz,” concluding: “This is not just a project for Santarém. We built this hospital for all the people of Ribatejo—to create value for the region’s health and its population.” Throughout the day, Hospital da Luz Ribatejo’s presence was highly visible to visitors at the National Agriculture Fair. With a berry lemonade stand, a photobooth for visitor snapshots, a prize wheel with exclusive Hospital da Luz giveaways, and the presence of LU , the brand mascot, the aim was to refresh the fair experience, create moments of engagement and interaction, and leave a lasting impression associated with the new hospital. Participation in FNA26 also aimed to gauge public interest in the new hospital project and understand visitors’ expectations regarding the opening of Hospital da Luz Ribatejo, scheduled for 2026. The new Hospital da Luz Ribatejo will include an inpatient unit with 42 beds, an operating block with four surgical theatres, a state-of-the-art imaging center equipped with MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography, and 40 consultation rooms offering a wide range of specialties. Planned clinical areas include Cardiology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Pediatrics, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Oncology, and Ophthalmology. The new facility will also feature a Women’s Health Center, an Oncology Center, a Dental Medicine Center, and a car park with 300 spaces.
