All medical exams were performed in due time at Hospital da Luz Lisboa and the 33 players of the rugby National Team are already training in full force, in Nice, to compete in the second world championship. This time, “Os Lobos” (the Wolves) count with Hospital da Luz as the official medical service provider, under the coordination of António Cruz Ferreira , specialist in sports medicine. The first match of the national team in this France World Cup will be on the 16 th September, in Nice, against the Wales team. It will be followed by the matches against Georgia (23 rd September), Australia (1 st October) and Fiji (8 th October). For Hospital da Luz, it is fundamental to support the development of different modalities and the practice of sport in all safety, as a way to promote healthy life habits and prevent disease. This clinical support results from the protocol celebrated in March this year with the Portuguese Rugby Federation (FPR), which establishes Hospital da Luz as the official medical service provider of the national teams in this modality, for the 2023/2024 season. Therefore, these teams now count with the clinical assistance of the Centre of Sports Medicine from Hospital da Luz Lisboa and its respective professionals, which are specialized in the follow-up of high-performance athletes, and have access to a wide range of medical services, from consultations and complementary diagnostic exams to urgent therapy treatments. The 2023 Rugby World Cup is taking place until the 28 th October, in eight French cities. Go, “Wolves”! #SomosLobos #Lobos #EspiritoLobo #RWC2023
