Hospital da Luz Learning Health is the new partner of the 2020 edition of MAZE-X, the European accelerator created by the Gulbenkian Foundation, which is based in Lisbon and works exclusively with technology-based startups, whose solutions contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. This new partnership will enable Hospital da Luz Learning Health to work closely with innovative solutions in the areas of healthcare delivery and management, with a focus on professional training, research and simulation. The participation in MAZE-X coincides with Learning Health's bet in the future simulation center of the new Hospital da Luz Lisboa, an investment of more than three million euros of the Luz Saúde Group, which is supported by European funds. By integrating MAZE-X, Learning Health Hospital da Luz will have access to innovative startups from all over Europe in the health area, whose solutions have a social and environmental impact integrated into its business model. MAZE-X was created by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Edmond de Rothschild Foundations. PLMJ Sociedade de Advogados is a founder and corporate partner of MAZE-X, providing strategic and legal support. BNP Paribas has been a partner of MAZE-X since the first edition and has been testing innovative impact solutions within the bank. MAZE-X is located in Casa do Impacto, a space dedicated to social and environmental impact startups in the Convent of São Pedro de Alcântara, which results from the partnership with the Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon. MAZE-X had its first edition in 2019 and is a 9-month accelerator that provides access to capital, skills and network to startups solving social and environmental challenges through their businesses.
