In the presentation that marked the signing of the agreement, which was attended by the top managers of the two companies, Ivo Antão, Luz Saúde's Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), highlighted the long connection between the two companies, which began in 2006, with the launch of Hospital da Luz Lisboa, a project that was born with the purpose of changing the paradigm of healthcare provision: “At that time, we chose OutSystems because we share the same way of thinking and acting in our areas of activity. In 2019, with the expansion of Hospital da Luz Lisboa and with new commitments in the areas of medical training and research, we launched a new challenge to OutSystems, which is renewed with the step we are taking today” . Isabel Vaz, CEO of Luz Saúde, highlighted the fact that the group is the only one in Portugal that guarantees the full provision of health care, from acute care to rehabilitation and palliative care. “We started Luz Saúde with a great ambition: to lead through innovation. Today we can say that there is a time before and a time after Luz Saúde” , he said, adding that, with OutSystems, the Group brought systems engineering to the health sector, remembering that it is information systems that make the difference. in hospitals. For this reason, he stated that he was “greatly proud to have a partner like OutSystems”. It is necessary to do more, to be even more agile in everything we want to do, with the challenge of having more user-friendly systems for our professionals” , he highlighted. For Paulo Rosado, CEO of OutSystems, the two companies have grown together, challenging each other: “We were surprised to see the theories and products that we dreamed of become reality and, in the case of Hospital da Luz, to see that system changes are made very quickly because it is a group with a great capacity for innovation” , he said, also highlighting the fact that the philosophy of information systems is changing rapidly and it is essential for a group like Luz Saúde to continue to be disruptive. Present in 90 countries and with customers in a wide range of areas, OutSystems is, according to its head in Portugal, “very interested in placing Hospital da Luz as an example to follow in the health care sector” .
