“Mental Networks” is the name of the project created in partnership with Observador Lab to spotlight the psychiatric inpatient unit at Hospital do Mar and the mental health focus championed by the Hospital da Luz network . The project includes interviews, reports, and a web series covering all facets of inpatient care and the work of professional teams, sharing patient and family testimonials. Web Series: " When Hospitalization is the Best Solution ”. The five episodes focus on different aspects of care: Regaining Autonomy : Introducing the specialized mental health care unit – the only private facility of its kind; Decision and Referral Process : Explains how patients are referred to the Hospital da Luz network; Goals and Benefits of Hospitalization : Explores levels of disability treatment and recovery goals; An Integrated Response : Highlights patient care continuity before, during, and after hospitalization; Pathways to Hospital do Mar : Covers how complex cases are managed within the system. The project also features the series " Behind the Care ", where professionals share insights about the psychiatric ward's day-to-day work and collaboration between medical and support teams, offering innovative, patient-centered solutions: “A turning point in patient recovery” – Hospital do Mar has taken another innovative step forward with a new Psychiatric Inpatient Unit that addresses acute situations requiring an experienced and dedicated team; “Communication is our greatest weapon” – Teamwork is the word that best defines the new Psychiatric Unit at Hospital do Mar. Nurses and health support technicians share in this report what makes this service unique; “Hospitalization is an opportunity” – Psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers. It's the combination of all these professions that makes the difference in the new Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Hospital do Mar; “The patient belongs to the whole hospital” – In the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit, internal medicine and general family medicine are part of the team, ensuring that all patient conditions are carefully managed; “We must trust the experts” – The Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Hospital do Mar opened in February 2024.
