Pedro Araújo is the new president of the Portuguese Neurotology Association (APO – Associação Portuguesa de Otoneurologia). The Hospital da Luz Lisboa otorhinolaryngologist will preside until 2028 over the board of the institution that gathers health professionals from different areas with the goal of promoting knowledge and development in balance disorder, hearing, and tinnitus, viewing to improve healthcare in these fields. The new board assumes as goals for this mandate “the reinforcement of training in Neurotology, the extension of scientific dissemination near the medical community and the general public, and the promotion of increasing awareness to the importance of hearing and balance in the quality of life” . And moreover “the incentive to scientific research and sharing will be a constant”, promising “to promote the organization of events, gatherings and projects, joining health professionals, researchers and the whole community”. Otorhinolaryngologist works within the Hospital da Luz network since 2007, Pedro Araújo also teaches at NOVA Medical School and is a member of the Neurotology Commission in the Portuguese Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Cervicofacial Surgery.
