The Simulation Centre of Hospital da Luz Learning Health has now available ten new Winco laparoscopic simulators , thus becoming the first European centre of training based on simulation with this new high-end equipment by Medical Simulator, a health technology company developing work all over Europe. The new Winco laparoscopic simulators, that were conceived in the scope of a partnership with the European Institute of Design, in Madrid, represent another example that, in the Simulation Centre of Hospital da Luz Learning Health, the best technology is put to the service of continuing medical education. These are training systems that allow the systematic and repeated execution of essential procedures in laparoscopy and the evaluation of the trainee’s performance through validated metrics, enabling to reduce the learning curves. At the end of each training session, it is possible to register and measure results, thus obtaining immediate feedback on the level of proficiency achieved by the trainee in each procedure. With the new Winco simulators, the Simulation Centre of Hospital da Luz Learning Health reinforces its commitment to ensure a training of excellence for the professionals in the area of minimally invasive surgery .
