‘Cardiovascular Risk’ is the title of the new edition of Lidel, signed by Victor Gil , cardiologist and coordinator of the Cardiovascular Risk and Thrombosis Center at Hospital da Luz Torres de Lisboa , which has just been launched. Written with other physicians, which address the issue of cardiovascular risk in its various aspects, the book is intended for all physicians and other health professionals interested in and involved in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in particular physicians from General and Family Medicine, Cardiology and Internal Medicine, but also pharmacists, nutritionist nurses and physiologists , "considering that the improvement of knowledge will generate the improvement of practices", reads in the presentation of the work. “This book addresses cardiovascular risk from a multidisciplinary and integrated perspective, presented by some of the most distinguished Portuguese authors who are experts on these topics, and makes a rigorous and up-to-date reading, pointing to the adoption of healthy lifestyles and the timely correction of risk, tending to a longer and healthier life”, it is further stated, adding: “Cardiovascular diseases lead the causes of disability and death worldwide.
