Hospital da Luz Neuroradiology Coordinator Distinguished in Spain

Pedro Vilela, neuroradiologist in Hospital da Luz units of Lisboa and Oeiras, where he is coordinator of the specialty, was distinguished by the Spanish Society of Neuroradiology as honourable member, during its annual congress. In this meeting, taking place between 26 and 28 October, in Vigo, the aforesaid specialist gave a conference on “Perfusion potential as biomarker generator” in neuroradiology.

In the picture above, Pedro Vilela with Ana Ramos and Nuria Bargallo, president and executive member of the Spanish Society of Neuroradiology, respectively. Member of Hospital da Luz Lisboa Research Committee, Pedro Vilela was also one of the invited speakers in a course of neurovascular anatomy, promoted by the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN), hold in New Delhi, between 1 and 5 November.

It is worth mentioning that the November special edition of the renowned European Journal of Radiology, entirely dedicated to cerebrovascular accident (stroke), was the responsibility of Pedro Vilela, together with Vítor Pereira, physician and researcher of the Imaging Department of Toronto University (Canada).

In that same edition, the Hospital da Luz specialist wrote two articles, one on non-vascular diseases simulating stroke, and another on the use of imaging techniques in cerebral ischemia – the latter in collaboration with Howard Rowley, president of the American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR).
