Corrida do Tejo was a Success with the Support of Hospital da Luz Oeiras

About 8.000 athletes participated in the 38th Corrida do Tejo, a running event organized by the City Council of Oeiras with the collaboration of Hospital da Luz Oeiras as official medical assistance provider, which took place in the morning of last September 23, along Avenida Marginal, between Algés and Praia da Torre (Carcavelos). In spite of the intense heat, the event, with a total distance of 10 km, was a success, counting with the participation of 20 collaborators from Grupo Luz Saúde.

Paulo Pinheiro, Sporting’s athlete, was the winner of the event, crossing the finish line with the time of 30m 53s, while Susana Francisco, also Sporting’s athlete, won in the female senior category with the time of 35m 49s. Similarly to 2017, Hélio Correia, Contact Center collaborator, was again the best participant from Luz Saúde, with the time of 48m 15s.

Hospital da Luz Oeiras was the official medical assistance provider for the second consecutive year, having installed, near the finish line, a medical centre equipped with technical and human means ready to provide assistance to athletes during and after the race. Besides the medical and nursing team from Hospital da Luz, in a total of eight health professionals, the medical assistance was also ensured by a fire brigade, seven ambulances distributed along the race way and four rapid intervention four-wheelers.
