Hospital da Luz specialists led a course in York

The 2nd Advanced Shoulder Arthroscopy Course, on the theme of bone instability and defects, was held on 8 and 9 April, in York, UK.

This course, held thanks to a partnership between the Luz Saúde and Smith & Nephew was led by Edward Carpenter, orthopedic surgeon and coordinator of the Hospital da Luz Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Group. Luís Pires, Manuel Moniz Barrier and Xavier Vasquez, orthopedic surgeons from the Hospital da Luz also took part.

The Hospital da Luz Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Group has participated annually in this type of training since 2010 in partnership with Smith & Nephew.

On the 2015 course, aimed at orthopedic surgeons specializing in shoulder arthroscopy, specialists from the Hospital da Luz shared and discussed various topics in two theoretical and one practical session. The latter session was dedicated to rupture of the rotator cuff, glenohumeral instability, remplissage and Bankart repair, held at the Smith & Nephew Surgical Training Centre in York.
