Hospital da Luz Learning in TEDxULisboa 2019

Hospital da Luz Learning Health was the scientific sponsor of TEDx Universidade de Lisboa, an event to promote technologic innovation through research and education, primarily destined to university students, which took place last May 4, at Aula Magna, in the rectory of that institution. Around a thousand people were present, from the courses of Medicine, Pharmacy and Biomedical Engineering, among others.

Hospital da Luz Learning Health presented at TEDxULisboa 2019, among other initiatives, a simulation equipment of laparoscopic surgery, that was a success among participants. The goal was to stress the importance of medical training for all students in health sciences.

TED is a non-profit organization created over 30 years ago viewing to hold global conferences on technology, entertaining and design, becoming a global and privileged stage to promote and share new ideas, counting with the participation of major thinkers and makers from all over the world. TEDx events are licensed conferences directed to the local community, with independent organizers.

Founded in 2018, TEDxULisboa is the official TEDx experience of Universidade de Lisboa and its goal is to promote multidisciplinarity between the areas of health, engineering, law, arts, languages and wellness.

“Compass” was the theme of this year’s edition: “As the largest university in Portugal, we have the duty to present our audience bold, disruptive and inspiring ideas, from education to technology, encompassing daily issues, that we believe to be able to help everyone find his own path”, explained the organization.
