Rosado Pinto Integrates Innovative International Project for Allergic Disease Control

The director of Hospital da Luz Lisboa’s Service of Immunoallergology, José Rosado Pinto, is one of the Portuguese specialists integrating the international team of the ARIA project (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma), which aims to study and analyse allergic disease in its several perspectives.

In the scope of this project, integrating immunoallergology specialists from all over the world, a free mobile app was developed designed for patients, which allows to track and monitor daily symptoms of allergic rhinitis and asthma.

This app, presently being divulged at world level, has a Portuguese version called “Diário da Alergia” (Allergy Diary), already promoted in the country by the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology – SPAIC (Sociedade Portuguesa de Alergologia e Imunologia Clínica).

In the beginning of June, during the next meeting of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology – EAACI, the first evaluation of this app impact at world level will take place.

Rhinitis affects about two million Portuguese patients and asthma hits 40% of these patients. About 10% of all Portuguese have asthma. Both allergic pathologies start, usually, in pediatric age.
