Hospital da Luz Work of Gastroenterology Distinguished

A work with the participation of the gastroenterologist Pedro Pinto Marques, from Hospital da Luz Lisboa, together with other three national specialists, was distinguished by the Portuguese Club of Pancreas, during the Digestive Week, taking place between 7-10 June, at Palácio de Congressos do Algarve (Albufeira).

“Antibiotic prophylaxis in pancreatic cyst puncture: less is more?” was considered the best work on Pancreatic Pathology. Besides Pedro Pinto Marques, are co-authors the gastroenterologists Irina Mocanu (Hospital Espírito Santo de Évora), Rita Barbosa and Marta Patita (from Hospital Garcia da Orta).

Still within the scope of the Digestive Week 2017, the nursing team of the Day Surgery Hospital Hospital Beatriz Ângelo obtained the 2nd prize in the free communications category, with the work titled 'Intestinal preparation with Split Dose: experience of a hospital'.

The Digestive Week 2017 gathered about 700 national and foreign specialists, which discussed the more recent themes in gastroenterology, such as digestive tumours, hepatic disease, intestinal inflammatory disease and reflux disease, among others. It was a joint organization of the Portuguese Society of Gastroenterology, the Portuguese Society of Digestive Endoscopy, the Portuguese Association for the Study of the Liver and the Specialized Sections of PSG (Nucleus of Neurogastroenterology and Digestive Motility, Portuguese Club of Pancreas, and the Portuguese Group of Ultrasound in Gastroenterology).
