Hospital da Luz Setúbal, in partnership with the city council, will carry out an awareness-raising campaign for lung cancer among the population, which will include the participation of Pulmonology and Oncology doctors from the Hospital. To mark World Lung Cancer Day, on the 1st of August, a team of professionals from Hospital da Luz Setúbal will be at Praça do Bocage, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, for an action to raise awareness and prevent the risk of this cancer, calling special attention to the relationship between tobacco consumption and lung cancer. Two doctors from HL Setúbal, pulmonologist Marta Fradinho and oncologist João Rato, will give personalized advice to all those who want to know more about their personal risk, carrying out a short clinical questionnaire and guiding them towards healthier behaviors and clinical follow-up. This action has a partnership with the Health Office of the Municipality of Setúbal, which provided the space and urban furniture essential for carrying out the screening and contact work with the population carried out by the doctors of Hospital da Luz Setúbal. The HLS team will distribute information leaflets about tobacco and lung cancer and offer free gifts to those who participate in this free screening.
