Hospital da Luz Organizes Symposium on Knee Surgery
Hospital da Luz Lisboa will hold, on November 18, the second edition of Face to Face Symposiums dedicated to clinical and surgical approaches in knee pathologies.
Organized by Pedro Granate, coordinator of the Knee Unit of the hospital’s Orthopaedics Service, the symposium will discuss, this year, diagnosis, treatment options and patellofemoral instability recovery. “This is a pathology that affects mostly younger people. If not diagnosed and treated early, it may lead to serious and incapacitating arthroses”, explains Pedro Granate.
This meeting, which will take place at Hospital da Luz Lisboa auditorium, counts with the presence of the hospital’s knee pathology staff and of two renowned European orthopaedic surgeons: the Danish Lars Blond, director of the Surgery Service from Koge University Hospital, and the German Werner Siekman, from Helios Endo-Klinik in Hamburg. Both will talk about trochleoplasty, a surgical technique also used in the treatment of patellofemoral instability.
Face to Face Symposiums are held annually and are destined to orthopaedists, interns of the specialty, students and all health professionals interested in the area.
