European Society for Magnetic Resonance Choses Hospital da Luz Lisboa for Advanced Training
The European Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine and Biology (ESMRMB) will provide in September 28-30, at Hospital da Luz Lisboa, an advanced course on magnetic resonance dedicated to the musculoskeletal system.
The course at Hospital da Luz Lisboa will be under the supervision of the imaging specialist, Vasco Mascarenhas, responsible for the Unit of Musculoskeletal Imaging – one of the few in the country in terms of specialization and with wide experience in the area, reasons that led to its choice as host of this ESMRMB training.
The course “Advanced MRI Imaging of the Musculoskeletal System” is destined to radiologists and other specialists that work in the area, such as orthopaedists and physiatrists.
Magnetic resonance is an imaging method more sensitive than X-ray and computed tomography, for the detection of a wide series of osteoarticular pathologies. However, its use requires the knowledge of specific protocols, morphologic signs and diagnosis patterns.
This course will approach the most complex questions raised regarding the use of magnetic resonance in the bone marrow, spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, knee, hip and foot, bone tumours and sport lesions.
