Hospital de Santiago initiative on prevention of obesity in Setúbal school

As part of International Nurse Day, celebrated May 12 last, the Hospital de Santiago came together with Sebastião da Gama High School in Setúbal, of which it is a patron, to hold an information and training initiative on obesity in adolescents.

The event aimed to help promote healthy lifestyles and prevent obesity, and covered all students from 7th to 10th grade at the school.

There were two screening sessions for nurses from the Hospital de Santiago, which included a body mass index (BMI) assessment and the teaching of measures to promote healthy lifestyles, particularly with regard to a balanced diet and exercise.
