Hospital da Luz Guimarães was present at the c losing party of the Vida Feliz Project , which took place on July 23 at the City Park. Several physical activities, promoted by the teams from Tempo Livre, were performed and a nursing team from Hospital da Luz Guimarães carried out more than 250 screening tests for health indicators (blood glucose, blood pressure and body mass index). The Vida Feliz Project, promoted by Tempo Livre and the Guimarães City Council, aims to provide the population over 55 years old and senior in the municipality of Guimarães with the practice of regular and properly oriented physical activity, with a view to improving their quality of life and raising awareness for the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. This project has about 1200 participants, now having the support of Hospital da Luz Guimarães, which is thus associated with one of the initiatives of promotion of healthy behaviors with greater impact on senior adults in Guimarães . Reduce the risk factors associated with the aging process, fighting against inactivity and sedentary lifestyle of this population, increase the levels of independence and autonomy by improving physical condition, reduce the tendency of isolation through the organization of leisure activities, are some of the goals of the project.
