Hospital da Luz Arrábida welcomes Filipe Leite who from this month on will reinforce the medical team of Thoracic Surgery. The surgeon has dedicated himself mostly to the treatment of patients with lung cancer, being specialized in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including uniportal video-assisted surgery. Graduated from Coimbra University and with a doctorate in medicine by Beira-Interior University, Filipe Leite has been serving in institutions of reference, including the thoracic surgery service of Oporto Oncology Portuguese Institute. His differentiation is particularly centred on the surgical treatment of lung and mediastinal tumours, privileging surgical strategies that conserve functional lung tissue through minimally invasive approaches of high technical precision. The integration of Filipe Leite will allow Hospital da Luz Arrábida to better respond to the needs of clients. His arrival significantly reinforces the unit of respiratory medicine, where a multidisciplinary approach of complex thoracic pathologies is applied, resorting to more precise, safer, and better targeted treatments towards a faster and more efficient recovery of patients. Hospital da Luz wishes Filipe Leite the best success in this new professional stage. His contribution will certainly be decisive for the development and affirmation of Thoracic Surgery in our institution.
