Hospital da Luz Arrábida and Arouca FC have established a partnership for the next football season (2026/27). The agreement provides that Hospital da Luz will be the official medical service of the club’s senior team, including medical exams and physical assessments to athletes, such as the recent pre-season testing, which have already been carried out at Hospital da Luz Arrábida. Founded on the 25 December 1952 in Arouca town (Oporto metropolitan area), Arouca FC plays in Portugal’s major league that it has reached for the first time in history in 2013. Joel Pinho, the club’s managing director, and Manuel Krug de Noronha, executive manager of Hospital da Luz units in Oporto region, both in the photo above, formalized the partnership between the two institutions. “This is a very important agreement for it allows the club access to the best healthcare in sports medicine”, pointed out the Arouca FC representative , leaving a thank you note “to the whole team of Hospital da Luz that has welcomed and followed our athletes in an exemplary manner”. “We acknowledge the high professionalism, willingness and collaboration spirit of all actors involved, which leaves us even more confident that this will be a partnership of success for both institutions”, he added. “The association of Hospital da Luz to this sports club represents an important stage in the building of our project”, stated on its turn Manuel Krug de Noronha. For Hospital da Luz, sports partnerships are a valuable tool in the fulfilment of one of its missions: promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing disease, which necessarily includes the practise of physical exercise. Arouca FC thus joins the over 40 sports clubs and associations all over the country counting on our support.
